Solid Wood Processing Techniques Get a Major Upgrade

Comprehensive technological innovations have taken place in the production and processing of solid wood furniture in recent years. Traditional rough timber treatment methods are gradually replaced by refined intelligent equipment. Wood drying is the core pain point that causes cracking and deformation of solid wood products. The new constant temperature and humidity drying production line can adjust temperature and humidity curves according to different wood species such as oak, walnut and rubber wood, controlling the moisture content error of timber within ±1%, and greatly reducing post-sale cracking of solid wood dining tables, chairs and cabinets.

CNC multi-sided cutting machines are introduced in cutting processes, which can intelligently calculate wood grain and defect positions for layout cutting, raising the comprehensive utilization rate of raw timber by more than 12% and saving precious solid wood resources. Meanwhile, the production line is equipped with dust recovery and wood chip recycling devices. Crushed wood and sawdust generated during processing are compressed into biomass fuel to realize zero discharge of production waste, matching the low-carbon development trend of home manufacturing.

Industry associations have also updated solid wood production specifications, clarifying wood material standards for dining tables, bed frames, cabinets and other products, and standardizing labeling rules for solid wood and veneer materials to eliminate material confusion in the market. After the implementation of new technologies, small and medium-sized processing factories can upgrade equipment in sections without high renovation costs, slightly cutting the overall production cost of solid wood furniture. It continuously improves the cost performance of solid wood dining sets and whole-house solid wood furniture, and lays a solid technological foundation for the long-term sustainable development of the industry.
